The cost of commuting has rised rapidly in the last few years. Many people are now looking for alternatives to the solo ride into work, but don't know anyone they can commute with. What is needed is a place for people to meet and find drivers or riders to share the travel with.
Rideshare is one of the most cost effective alternative methods of travel. Two or more people can set up a schedule that meets their needs, while reducing costs at all levels. It utilizes seats that would otherwise be empty, and reduces traffic on our already strained road systems.
To use Rideshare, you just need to register on the forum, (it's free), and review the requests for your area. If you don't see anything for you, post a ride to share. Give your schedule, general route and preferences. We recommend that all initial contact be done through Private Messages on the forum. We also recommend getting to know your prospects throughly before you rideshare. This is your responsibility. The site is offered for free, we have our own day jobs, and we simply do not have the means to research anybody. Like life, this site is used at your own risk.
